About Us
Welcome, new friends! We are the owners, Mel and Sarah. Baked Joy is owned by Filipino-American women, and we have been in business for the last 12 years. Started in Loma Linda, CA in 2012, we have catered school events, birthday parties, weddings, and more.
History
Our partnership began as friendship in junior high, and, as we progressed into high school, it became clear that we enjoyed baking together. Once we began testing new recipes and sharing those goodies with our friends and family, we began recieving orders for more! Our name was born out of the joy our loved ones seemed to feel when we gifted them baked goods.
Sarah has always had a love for food and baking. From a young age, she began expirementing with cooking and baking with the instruction of her parents, grandparents, and the Food Network. It quickly became her favorite channel, and she put her excitement and knowledge to good use, developing recipes and practicing new ways to better the recipes she’d found.
Melanie has exceptional taste and is responsible for many designs. She approves each order meticulously, as well as photographs and markets them. She has a love for providing delicious and beautiful goodies to all of our customers, whether they are family and friends or not.
From 2012 until the present, we have provided gifts of goodies for our loved ones, and it would be our greatest pleasure to share what we bake, filled with joy, to your loved ones.
Sarah Amy
Hi! My name is Sarah Amy, and I am so happy to meet you. In 2012, Melanie and I decided to pursue taking our hobby and doing more with it. I have always loved cooking, especially for family and friends. Watching their enjoyment and seeing their glee at the different designs has always been the best part of baking.
I have experience catering many different events, including birthday parties, baby showers, graduation parties, bake sales, anniversary parties, and even weddings. It is always fun to work with people to create their perfect dessert tables.
I also love working with non-profit organizations to fundraise for different causes. On many occasions, I have volunteered with the East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless for feeding and sheltering the homeless population of that area.
My other vocation is a web developer. I work for AP Comp as an Account Manager and Developer. I love the creativity both careers provide, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Personally, I have four pets: two dogs and two cats, all of whom are rescues. They are my little babies. Beyond baking, my hobbies include singing, gaming, and traveling. My favorite places to travel are Seattle, WA, Blue Hill, ME, and Austin, TX, but I have also traveled to Germany, the Czech Republic, and Peru. My dream vacation is to visit the Phillipines with my family.

Hihi! My name is Melanie, and I’m so glad you’re visitng our site! Sarah and I have been besties for 16 years now, and we are so excited to share our growth with you. We’ve stuck together since junior high, and I’m so glad to be working together to create joy for others.
I have experience working in food service and other customer service related fields. With many different interactions, I have been able to learn how to best serve customers and determine what it is they would really enjoy.
Currently, I also work as a line cook, bartender, and server at two different Ramen shops in the Inland Empire. I have a great passion for providing high-standard food and happiness to clientele.
On my own time, I am attending college to acquire my BA in Music Education. I love singing, and, one day, I hope to share my love of music with others. I have one dog, Bambi, and a sweet kitty named Nala. Other than that, I love to spend my time gaming, going out with friends, and make TikToks.
